ABOUT THE PLANTING
Located just 20 miles to the southwest of New Orleans. Salvador Wildlife Management Area is a critical wetland for storm protection to the communities of St. Charles, Jefferson, and Orleans Parish.
The Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries Foundation has partnered with Restore the Earth Foundation to create the largest reforestation project along the Gulf Coast. This public-private partnership was formed with Chevron in 2022, which included funding for the reforestation as well as a donation of land adding to the total acreage of Salvador WMA.
