Mini BOW Falconry Workshop

Master Falconer Rusty Scarborough will use his trained bird of prey to demonstrate falconry hunting techniques. Participants should be prepared to be outdoors and able to hike off trail and through uneven terrain.  Falconry is a hunting sport using trained birds of prey such as hawks, falcons, eagles and owls to catch small game that dates back 3000 years. Falconers are licensed by the Federal Government and the Louisiana Department of Wildlife & Fisheries and follow the regular hunting seasons in Louisiana.  Please note that we will be following the bird through bottomland forest and will not be on trails.  Dress for comfort and possibly wet or muddy conditions.  DO NOT wear fur lined parkas or hats or toboggans with fuzzy ball top knots or dangling poms.  NO PETS are allowed.
