POSITION SUMMARY:
Louisiana Wildlife & Fisheries Foundation seeks a dynamic Executive Director to help build the LAWFF's goals and expand its contributions to conservation and restoration in Louisiana. The primary responsibility of the Executive Director is the general oversight of the operations of the LAWFF. The Executive Director reports to the Board and is responsible for implementing and carrying out the policies of the LAWFF. The successful candidate will have the passion and leadership skills necessary to articulate, develop, and implement LAWFF's goals and strategies.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Fundraising and directing a major gifts program
• Public speaking
• Grant management
• Contract review and management
• Project and program management
• Budget preparation and management
• Monitoring properties subject to Conservation Servitude
• Event planning and hosting (annual fundraising event “Wild Night” and several others throughout Louisiana during the year)
REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor's degree with marketing experience
• An avid interest in outdoor activities and a connection with conservation
• Interaction with LDWF and other conservation associations
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Self-motivated and personable
• Leadership qualities
• Ability to travel state-wide on a regular basis
• Grant-writing experience preferred
• Fundraising experience for non-profits
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
• Strong accounting and business management skills
